This month's calendar image features the Biosphère in Montreal, which is a museum dedicated to the environment. The geodesic dome was designed by Buckminster Fuller and built for Expo 67 in Montreal. The dome is one of many landmarks along the St. Lawrence River in Montreal and the mesmerizing lights on the dome are incredibly beautiful.
This month's calendar image features a tree frog posing on a tree branch in Ontario cottage country. Tree frogs have a really cool ability to camouflage themselves by shifting color between gray and green to match the surface they are sitting on.
This month's calendar image features the beautiful glow of sunset over a raft of canoes on the shore of Westover Lake. We were very lucky to have the entire lake to ourselves and this was the calm after a torrential storm raged through our camp earlier in the evening.
This month's calendar image features the fireworks display from the Grandstand show at the Calgary Stampede. It seemed appropriate to post this now as there will be plenty of opportunities to see fireworks at the various Canada Day and Canada 150 celebrations coming up this weekend, as well as a full week of fireworks at the Stampede starting next Friday!
This month's calendar image features a row of Tulips from my garden. These are the official Canada 150 Tulips that have been sold all across the country in honor of the Canada 150 sesquicentennial celebrations this year. The beautiful red and white petals resemble the maple leaf in the Canadian flag and many thousands have been planted all around Canada.
