Portrait Photography

One on Wednesday

Here's a very cute photo of my son Andrew that I thought I'd share today. We have a wedding to go to just before Christmas and some new clothes were required. Some of our family members that live in far away parts of the country wanted to see the new outfits, so I quickly put my portrait studio into action! This is Andrew's first suit. Although he's not so sure about the tie, he's pretty proud of how he looks in his new "costume". I think he's pretty dapper myself! But I have to say that I'm pretty shocked by how grown up he looks while all dressed up. Of course you have to look past his goofy look with the tongue sticking out and the Teddy Bear in his arm in order to see that... But that's how it goes when photographing children; sometimes you have to let them do what they need to do in order to get comfortable. If Andrew wants to bring his Teddy Bear into the studio, he's welcome to do it. Have a great hump day!

Fall Portraits with the Robinson Family

I got to spend a lovely fall day at The Ranche in Fish Creek Park with my friend Eric and his family. I've known Eric for many years, and I was honored when he asked me to do a portrait session with his family. It was really great to meet his wife Erika and their very happy 7 month old son Drake. The best part was that we got to spend a few hours outside enjoying a beautiful day!

Baby Syrus – Safe in Dad’s Arms

This is a short post to share an image from a recent newborn session. Baby Syrus was just two weeks old when I met him and he was very comfortable with anyone holding him. To see him snuggle into has dad's shoulder was absolutely precious and I just had to share it.

Say No! to Boring Business Portraits!

Remember what they say about first impressions? These days first impressions are being formed before people even meet each other. We're Googling each other and checking out Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. It's very important to have great pictures online. Business portraits don't have to be boring!

Baby Art

While processing some images from recent newborn photography session I was playing around with some ideas I've had for awhile to display some of the images of the extra details. In this case I had a great set of images including baby's ear, hand, and feet. I thought they looked really great in black and white, and I wanted a way to show them off all together, so I created a clean panoramic layout that included all three images. I love the resulting image and I think it would look great in a large format print with a simple black frame. What do you think? How else would you like to see your images displayed?
