Product Showcase – Valentines Cards

Custom Designed Photo Greeting Cards I've had a couple of inquiries recently from clients wishing to have custom cards made for Valentines Day. Although I have several beautiful templates available for Valentines Day I've never actually advertised them before. So this is just a quick post to show off a few of the designs that I have available. All of these designs are completely customizable; I can quickly change the colors, the fonts, and of course the text. Alternatively if you have a specific idea for a card that you would like to send out I can probably help you with that too. These great cards are a wonderful way to show off your images from a recent Baby or Children's photography session, or even for Family or Engagement photos. Note that I also have card designs available for all of the major holidays (Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, etc.), as well as for those special days in our lives like Birth Announcements and Birthdays. If you'd like to see some other greeting card designs for a particular event please let me know and I'll do what I can to help you out. One last thing... Timing is getting pretty tight for delivery in time for Valentines Day. I can still get them done for you if you get your order in by Tuesday, February 8th. I also have a limited number of times available between now and then if you would like to book a photography session. Please call me at 403-615-3708 if you'd like to book a session or if you want to order some cards using images from a past session. Baby Syrus – Safe in Dad’s Arms

This is a short post to share an image from a recent newborn session. Baby Syrus was just two weeks old when I met him and he was very comfortable with anyone holding him. To see him snuggle into has dad's shoulder was absolutely precious and I just had to share it.

Baby Art

While processing some images from recent newborn photography session I was playing around with some ideas I've had for awhile to display some of the images of the extra details. In this case I had a great set of images including baby's ear, hand, and feet. I thought they looked really great in black and white, and I wanted a way to show them off all together, so I created a clean panoramic layout that included all three images. I love the resulting image and I think it would look great in a large format print with a simple black frame. What do you think? How else would you like to see your images displayed?

Baby Malcolm

My really great friend Carol recently came to Calgary to visit with her new nephew Malcolm. She invited me over for a visit and to make some portraits of baby Malcolm and the rest of the family. It was really nice to meet Malcolm and to have such a great visit with great friends. My own family also came along to have a visit with Carol and her family and of course everyone wanted to get involved in the photo shoot. I wouldn't normally have my family around during a session with clients, but this one was a special case! It was one of the craziest sessions I've ever had and it was repeatedly interrupted every few minutes as all the kids trampled through the set. It became and extended photo shoot and I gave all the kids balloons to play with and tried to capture the joy of the moment... Eventually we sent most of the observers away to the park down the street so that I could get some real quality time with Malcolm and his parents. Heather and Trevor were very patient throughout the session and we made some really great images after everything settled down. It was quite peaceful and much more relaxed after the chaos of the kids running around, and Malcolm was a happier baby too. Naturally the session ended shortly after the kids came back from the park... It was great to see everyone and to meet Malcolm too. Thanks to everyone involved for just going with the flow of the changing situation. Sometimes it's just like that with families with kids and I'm glad that everyone handled it so well!

New Packages and Pricing

I have received some great feedback from a few people that are very important to me that the information available about my Portrait and Lifestyle packages needed some work. They were lacking some important details to begin with, and they were a bit too complicated anyway. In order to fix this I have completely revised all of my packages and pricing. The important details can now be found in two downloadable PDF guides. I will continue to tweak these guides as required based on customer feedback, but the prices will not change significantly in the short term. The Portrait and Print Pricing Guide (Spring 2010) and the Baby's First Year Program Guide are now available for download. Note that the pricing in these guides will take effect immediately, but if you really have your heart set on one of my previous packages then please feel free to ask for it and I'd be happy to oblige. P.S.: Do you want to stay informed of new promotions? Please sign up for the Riverwood Photography News mailing list. Newsletters will go out approximately once a month.
