A Year in Pictures – Short Version

I was given the opportunity to do a short (5 minute) presentation about my business today at the Calgary Professional Business Owners & Managers Meetup Group that I attend regularly, and I decided to use a fusion video slideshow of images to show off some of my favorite work from the past year. Some of you may remember another video slideshow that I showed here a couple of months ago entitled "A Year in Pictures". I was very happy with that presentation but the slideshow itself was over 5 minutes long, and so I had to cut it down. I'm calling this the short version of "A Year in Pictures" because it includes many of the images that I used in the longer one, but the total length of the slideshow is now just under 2 minutes. Using this version for my presentation today allowed me to talk about my Calgary Photography business while also showing just enough images to give the group a good overview of the type of photography that I'm capable of creating and interested in doing.

Fundraiser for the Ride to Conquer Cancer

Here is another great opportunity to get a Portrait Session while also supporting a great cause! I have the pleasure of being able to donate a Free 1 Hour Lifestyle Portrait Session (including a Framed 8x10 print) to be raffled off at a charity fundraiser for Team Ginger in the upcoming 2011 Alberta Ride to Conquer Cancer. This is a $200 value and you could win it if you attend the fundraiser! The 2011 Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting the Alberta Cancer Foundation is an epic cycling journey along the majestic Canadian Rocky Mountains and will take place from June 25-26, 2011. Proceeds will support breakthrough research, exemplary teaching, and compassionate care at the Alberta Cancer Foundation, a leader in cancer research and treatment. Team Ginger is a Calgary based team of friends and coworkers who have already raised over $25,000 for this great cause! Please help them reach their goal of $50,000 in support of Cancer research. Voting Day

Today is the federal election day in Canada and it's really important that you get out and vote! Did you know that only 40-50% of eligible Canadians vote? Let's change that this time around. This is a very important election and your vote matters! You do not need a Voter Information Card. If you go to Elections Canada On-line, you can register and find your polling station. You can also bring proof of your identity to the poll. Polling stations close at 7:30 PM tonight, but anyone in line prior to 7:30 will get to vote...
