100km in a Day
I had the privilege to spend the day on course with the cyclists that rode in the Ride the Rideau, a 100km bike ride from Ottawa to Merrickville in Ontario. The ride was a charity event in support of cancer treatment and research at the Ottawa Hospital.
Specifically I was at the event while following my wife Louise and her brother Rob who rode in memory of their father John. He received wonderful care at the Ottawa Hospital last year and they wanted to do something to say thanks and to help provide better care for future patients. Together they raised over $4,000 and the grand total from all the riders that participated was over $2,000,000. It was an amazing event to watch and I’m so glad that they decided to take part.
