Vacation Delays

I just wanted to post a quick update to say that any response to inquiries or to orders posted between now and August 9th may be delayed. I will try to get to them ASAP; however, I will be in and out of town a couple of times and won't have internet access for most of it... Thanks for your understanding! Cheers, Sean PS - The image above is of Hoodoos in the Badlands at Writing on Stone Provincial Park in South Eastern Alberta. We went camping there for a few days and I really enjoyed roaming through the badlands under the light of the full moon. The place is very beautiful day and night, and it's a wonderful place to go camping. I highly recommend it!

Baby Malcolm

My really great friend Carol recently came to Calgary to visit with her new nephew Malcolm. She invited me over for a visit and to make some portraits of baby Malcolm and the rest of the family. It was really nice to meet Malcolm and to have such a great visit with great friends. My own family also came along to have a visit with Carol and her family and of course everyone wanted to get involved in the photo shoot. I wouldn't normally have my family around during a session with clients, but this one was a special case! It was one of the craziest sessions I've ever had and it was repeatedly interrupted every few minutes as all the kids trampled through the set. It became and extended photo shoot and I gave all the kids balloons to play with and tried to capture the joy of the moment... Eventually we sent most of the observers away to the park down the street so that I could get some real quality time with Malcolm and his parents. Heather and Trevor were very patient throughout the session and we made some really great images after everything settled down. It was quite peaceful and much more relaxed after the chaos of the kids running around, and Malcolm was a happier baby too. Naturally the session ended shortly after the kids came back from the park... It was great to see everyone and to meet Malcolm too. Thanks to everyone involved for just going with the flow of the changing situation. Sometimes it's just like that with families with kids and I'm glad that everyone handled it so well!

Chinook Outriders Motorcycle Club Photoshoot

Image Collage from a Photoshoot with the Chinook Outriders Recently I had the pleasure of being invited to create individual and group portraits for the members of a Calgary Women's Motorcycle Club. The Chinook Outriders are the Calgary chapter of the Women in the Wind. This group includes a bunch of beautiful and classy ladies and the photo shoot was incredibly fun. I would photograph an event like this again any time! Thanks to all the women that came out and put on their leathers and the other gear (including their wonderful attitudes!) required to help me make some really great portraits! All of the images have been uploaded to our Online Ordering System for Events. Enlargements and reprints can be ordered from that gallery for delivery directly to you. Digital copies of each image are also available for download. Images can be easily sorted and searched by rider name so you can quickly find the ones that are important to you. Dog Photography with Pet ViTails

These images are from a fun-filled collaborative session with several dogs that Virginia McCullough from Pet ViTails arranged to have available for me. Pet ViTails is a professional pet care service and they would be happy to help you with dog walking, behavior correction, and medication administration for your pets. Virginia and I got together to create some portfolio images for both of our businesses. We did two sessions the same day. The first session was outside and involved 3 wonderfully happy and excited dogs. They were very excited to be together and did more running and playing than posing for the camera. We did manage to sneak in a few posed shots as well, but most of the images from this session were much more active than my normal sessions! The second session was a studio session with a beautiful yellow lab. He was much calmer than the other dogs and was relatively happy to relax in the studio setting and watch while I worked. Many thanks to Virginia from Pet ViTails for arranging to get the dogs for both of these sessions and for managing the talent while I made the images! Thanks also to the owners of the dogs for allowing us to use the services of their animal friends!
